MACOMB, Ill. - In preparation for the upcoming season, the Western Illinois swimming and diving team will host the 2007 Homecoming Swim-A-Thon Fundraiser, Saturday, Sept. 29, at 8 a.m. in Brophy Hall Pool.
“This is a great event that allows our parents and fans to come show support for our team,” Western Illinois head swimming and diving coach
Nathan Mundt said. “We encourage everyone to come out and spend some time with us as a pre-tailgate to the homecoming football game.”
During the event the divers will showcase their diving skills for the full two hours, while the swimmers will swim for a continuous 5,000 yards. The team uses this event to raise money for this year’s team expenses. The event is open to the public, and a donut and juice reception with the team will follow.
The Western Illinois swimming and diving team opens their 2007 season with a dual meet against Saint Louis at home, Friday, Oct. 12 at 5 p.m.
