This event is being held as a way to raise funds for eight-year-old Shaymus Guinn (son of Tony Guinn, Western Illinois Women’s Soccer Coach), who has been diagnosed and is undergoing treatment for Ewing’s Sarcoma, which is a rare form of cancer.
Hosted by the Western Illinois University Track and Field team, the goal is to raise support and funds to help offset the expenses for the Guinn family. 100% of the proceeds will benefit the Guinn family. We hope that you and your family can come out to support the cause and have a little fun in the process!!!
The Shaymus relays consists of track and field activities for grades 1st through 6th, including one field event, two running events and one relay. Additional events after the four can be purchased for $5 per event.
The Breakfast Club Relay and the 4x400 meter relay are events for students of Western Illinois University. The Breakfast Club Relay will consist of each runner eating a stack of pancakes and drinking a glass of milk. After consuming this, they must run one lap before handing off the fork (which will be used
as the relay baton) to their next teammate. Each member must complete this same task. The 4x400 Meter Relay is an event in which teams comprise four runners who each complete 400 meters or one lap around the track.
